Hello, I'm Kay and I'm a tax geek. Sadly, there's no 12 Step program, but there is blogging! I've been writing about taxes daily at my blog Don't Mess With Taxes (http://dontmesswithtaxes.typepad.com/) since 2005 when I returned to my native Texas. I'm also contributing tax editor for the personal finance website Bankrate.com and author of one book, The Truth About Paying Fewer Taxes, and co-author/contributor to two more (with a third in the works).














When I'm working, I'm a writer, specializing in consumer-oriented financial topics with a special focus on taxes.

My first solo book, The Truth About Paying Fewer Taxes (FT Press), was published in 2009.















When I'm playing, I'm watching sports, birding, doing crossword puzzles, reading mysteries, listening to music (mostly jazz or Texas roots rock) or just spending time with my wonderful husband.
