Pat Flynn, creator of the ultra-popular (and helpful) Smart Passive Income brand, will be our opening keynote speaker at #FinCon13
If you’re not already familiar with Pat, you should know that he’s one of the most successful and most transparent online entrepreneurs (something that Forbes recently pointed out).
Pat’s YouTube channel is a wealth of information and his podcast, recently featured in the New York Times, has been downloaded over 2.5 million times.
Pat and financial blogging go way back. Back at #FinCon11, Pat gave a talk entitled, “How to Stand Out of the Crowd“.
We asked Pat why he was excited to return to FinCon (after having missed last year’s conference due to the birth of his daughter) and here’s what he had to say:
“I’m jazzed to come back to FinCon. [#FinCon11] was life-changing for me, and I’ve been hooked on public speaking ever since… I’m also excited because I remember how amazing the [financial blogging] community was at #FinCon11 and even though I’ve spoken a number of times since then, it’s still my favorite conference. My first love, if you will.”
Interested in buying or selling a blog? There’s a lot more to it than just an exchange of money and Wordpress logins.
Learn critical steps in the process from someone who has been there. Elizabeth not only has sold websites and blogs, she is also financial institutions attorney and practices in the area of mergers and acquisitions.
In this session you’ll learn the 6 pieces of information that must be in every agreement; secret agreement provisions to watch out for; and how to prevent problems after the sale. If you’re even thinking about buying or selling your site, this session is a must attend.

#IgniteFinCon for a second year!
For the uninitiated, Ignite is a fun gathering of like-minded people where a democratically selected group of speakers get on stage for 5 minute talks on topics designed to entertain, educate, or excite you. Each talk is called a “spark” as it is supposed to “ignite” thought and conversation around a single idea.
But it is not so simple for the speakers… Each 5 minute conversion requires exactly 20 slides timed at 15 seconds a piece. Think of it as TED talks on speed.

Bloggers Helping Bloggers (BHB) is an online mentoring program founded in August 2012 with the intention of pairing veteran and new bloggers together for one on one mentoring and coaching.
BHB is coming to #FinCon13. You should have been asked to express your interest in BHB during registration. If you did, you should have received an email from Jana, founder of BHB, who would have reached out to coordinate your part in BHB at #FinCon13. If you somehow missed the signup, contact Jana at bloggermentoring@gmail.com.
